Born in Cairo, Georges Fikry obtained his PHD in Fine Arts, in the year 2000. He is presently appointed as Professor at the Art Education Faculty of the University of Helwan.
Fikry is a member in the Plastic Arts Syndicate, as well as in other different art committees, and associations such as the Suzanne Mubarak Arbitration Committee and the International Association of Art (AICA).
Since 1989, Fikry has participated in more than 50 private and public exhibitions inside and outside Egypt. The latest being an exhibition at the Fine Arts Albertini Academy in Torino as well as at the Egyptian Cultural Center in Rome, both in 2005. Fikry's last one- man-show was at the American University of Cairo (AUC) in 2007.
In 2006, Fikry was one of the participants at the 10th International Egyptian Biennale, where he won the 1st Prize in the following year he participated in the International Venice Biennale as well as in the Contemporary Egyptian Art exhibition in Alicante- Spain.
Fikry has had many contributions in Art Experimental workshops addressing the Egyptian youth children and general public. To name a few: the Children Park at Sayyeda Zeinab Workshop, and the Zamalek Arts Complex-Suzanne Mubarak's Culture Home Workshop, the Foustat Garden Workshop.
On an international level, Fikry prepared, organized and ran an international workshop at Torino's Art Academy, entitled "From earth to the heart", in 2005. During the same year, he also participated in a workshop at La Spenza - the Rome's Studies University.
Fikry, a versatile artist, is the recipient of several prizes and appreciation awards in the fields of drawing photography, engraving and painting.
