RECEPTIVE FORMS

Isis is still searching relentlessly all day… until the sun goes down. She looks for that king whose body was torn to pieces, her beloved, betrayed by his closest of kin. Forces of darkness conspired against him and put an end to the throbbing of that his benevolent heart; an end to the life of a loved and venerated man. The queen collects his remains and manages to unite them once more into one body. She is the very source of life: the miracle maker.

Like an iron tower, he embodies the limitless energy of fatherhood. His fingers point at things you might not be able to understand now…prophecies, some of which we may live long enough to see materialize. He warns of catastrophes…dozens of triangles…innumerable vacuums. He stands tall above vast emptiness. He never bends in the face of storms, but they rather pass through his numerous little windows. The body and the soul… which of them dominates the other? It is an eternal conflict with which the artist is constantly preoccupied.

His forms are no longer dark bodies that hold the secrets of the sculpture locked inside, but rather they constitute of symbols, signs, letters, and endless interpretations. Bronze is the artist’s space-ship, and with it he soars and floats, creating fantastic worlds. His dreams never die. The sculptor grasps his ideas and molds them into shapes that transcend stereotypes, ones that never rest and forever fight obstacles. His creations are not content with the pleasures of dreams as they are not idle, nor are they content with restricted spaces as they are far from incapable, nor do they succumb to the pacifiers of the conscience as they are resolute.

Nathan Doss knows how transform his ideas into creations. He has a clear objective that he never strays away from. His hands have a firm grip and he moves forward without looking right or left. As he pummels on, he fulfils his vision and prides himself in his resulting work.
