This collection can be considered a sequel to the one displayed at the exhibition entitled “Cache.” Both collections explore the secrets of ancient Egyptian civilization and the main sources of inspiration that endowed this civilization with the powerful impact it has maintained for centuries. In so doing, he demonstrates the ability of Egyptian heritage to guide artists through different philosophical paths and encourage them to express their interpretation of history in a tangible form. The artist, therefore, takes part in highlighting the role ancient Egypt played in the history of mankind and proves the continuation of Egyptian culture and philosophy through modern times.
The exhibition is based on three main aspects, all revolving around intellectual paths that aim at inspiring liberation and elimination of negative energy. This starts with the Sacred Lake, which underlines human beings’ continuous quest for cleansing their souls in an attempt to reach spiritual harmony and do away with pressures that at times suppress their natural goodness and lure them into surrendering to forces of evil. Human beings in the exhibition are linked to the Sacred Lake in different ways whether when their bodies are transformed into boats that sail along the lake or when they make boats that take them around it. In both cases, the lake is depicted as a source of hope and benediction.
Then comes the sun, whose light emphasizes the beauty of nature and prepares for the shift to darkness which has its own beauty because of this daily contrast between day and night. The sun is a symbol of youth and optimism and the hope it inspires throughout the day is what makes one appreciate the serenity and charm of the night and the moon it makes room for.
Last but not least is the lotus flower, which acts as a symbol of revival, of life that only ends to start anew to keep inspiring hope and positivity. The lotus is where good fights the forces of evil and constantly works on defeating them and making sure the world remains a safe place.
The sun is our guideThat welcomes the moon into its skiesWe live and see life through youWe see the truth
That we’re always looking for.
The waters of the lake shine under its rays
And on its surface float the lotus flowers
And across it we sail in the boats of our lives.
